June 2023 Meeting – Field Trip

Tuesday, June 6th, 7:00pm
1307 W Smith Road
Ferndale WA 98248

Our June 6th meeting will be a field trip in the Ferndale area at 1307 W Smith Road at Richie Adams’ shop. It will be at the usual 7pm start time. In addition to being a contractor, Richie runs a business that mills and dries mostly hardwood slabs. One of the kilns he built is totally solar! He has large inventory of slabs, and is going to give us a tour of his operation. Slabs, both large and small, will also be available for purchase. He will demonstrate, weather permitting, milling a slab, and talk about the process he uses to procure, handle, mill, and dry his slabs. He acquires many of his trees by offering free tree removal to certain customers. There is plenty of parking, but carpooling is encouraged.
